Foundation
The group was founded on the 9th May 2000 by a group of recipients of organs, on the initiative of its promoter Mr Alfred Debattista, who chaired an Ad Hoc Committee to lay a basis, draft a Statute and encourage recipients of organs to join in.
The group was officially launched on the 05th September 2000 at the Board Room, St. Luke’s Hospital, under the patronage and the participation of the Hon. Minister of Health, Dr L. Deguara M.D.M.P.

Status
Our group is a philanthropic, non-profit making Organisation (NGO). Financially, we derive solely on the subscription of our members (€5 annually) and the support coming from Life Cycle Organisation and Bank Of Valletta plc. No public funding is involved.
